Simulated and Proxy Data

Simulated and Proxy Data

The PACE Project has developed realistic, flight-like simulated Level-1B data for OCI, and simulated Level-1C data for SPEXone and HARP2. This includes a complete day in the life (DITL) for 21 March 2022, for all three instruments. The OCI simulated Level-1B data have been processed to Level-2 and Level-3 ocean color, aerosol, and cloud products using the operational software to produce a full suite of science data products that are consistent in format and content with what can be expected after PACE launch. Flight-like Level-1A and derived Level-1B data is also available for the DITL using Level-0 source data from prelaunch observatory testing that was modified to match the DITL times and processed through at-launch algorithms. Other useful proxy data include airborne measurements from airHARP, SPEX airborne, and RSP, as well as HARP cubesat that began operations in April 2020.
