Other Resources

This page contains links to external systems and resources that distribute the data products generated by the Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG), or higher-level products derived from the standard NASA product suites.

Giovanni

The Giovanni tool provides access to a subset of NASA OBPG Level-3 mapped images through an online visualization and analysis tool. The current data sets available include SeaWiFS data, MODIS-Aqua and MODIS-Terra data (MODIS-Terra provides sea surface temperature data only) which are processed by the Ocean Biology Processing Group (OBPG) at Goddard Space Flight Center. This interface also includes some higher-level derived products produced by other organizations through the NASA MEaSUREs Program.

Check out the manuals, videos and tutorials available to help navigate the tool and achieve the best user experience.

Ocean Productivity

There are currently no standard ocean productivity products produced and distributed by the OBPG.  The Ocean Productivity website at Oregan State University distributes a suite of Net Primary Productivty products derived from the standard SeaWiFS and MODIS ocean color products.

MEaSUREs

Making Earth System data records for Use in Research Environments (MEaSUREs) is a NASA research and development program that supports additional product development and exploitation of NASA's existing earth science mission data records.  Several Projects have been funded through this program that utilize and expand on the OBPG multi-mission product suite.  Many of the products associated with these Projects are currently or will be eventually be distributed through the standard OBPG data access channels.  In addition, some Projects maintain independent product distribution websites.  The table below provides descriptive links to each Project with start date, production and distribution status within OBPG, and link to Project-specific website if it exists.
