The Ocean Biology and Biogeochemistry Meeting (previously known as Ocean Color Research Team (OCRT) meeting) is held annually. During this meeting, the OBB provides updates on programs, OB.DAAC shares information on data and provides updates on the status of missions, and OBB-funded scientists share progress on their research. Valuable discussions are facilitated which allow the program and DAAC to share ideas, discover synergies across existing investigations, and create avenues for new collaborations.
The OB.DAAC User Working Group (UWG) is a group of science community memebers serving as an external advisory group. The UWG is tasked to 1) Assess the quality of services provided by the OB.DAAC and provide a determination of the extent to which the products reflect the needs of the science community; 2) Offer recommendations on the addition of new data sets; 3) Suggest improvements to enhance overall user experience; 4) Facilitate communications with the global ocean color user community and interested members of other communities; 5) Recommend new capabilities and guidance on suggested priorities; 6) Communicate with and document actions/input from the UWG to the NASA ESDIS Project and NASA ESD Data Systems Program; and 7) Review previous recommendations for continued relevance and possible priority changes.
Meetngs and workshops that held significant importance for OB.DAAC are listed below. Although these events occurred over 5 years ago, the scientific community still greatly benefits from the research, findings, and information contained in this material. As such, we are committed to keeping this information available for referencial purposes.
