How can I visualize L3b files?

The L3b file format is not a raster image format.  The internal data model for SeaDAS is based on 2D raster images, so visualizing the L3b files is not directly possible.
The data need to be mapped prior to display.  An early version of the L3 product reader would do the mapping of L3b data "on-the-fly".  This was extraordinarily
inefficient, so more recent versions disabled the ability to read L3b file for visualization.  It is better to map the data first using smigen (or it's replacement l3mapgen).

The data from L3b files can be exported to a spreadsheet format using l3bindump.
