What are the required ancillary data for Level 2 processing?

The Level 2 processing code requires several ancillary data products in order
to perform atmospheric correction.  These include meteorological data, total
columnar ozone, and -for some products- sea-surface temperature.  The
meteorological data include meridional and zonal wind speeds, atmospheric
pressure, precipitable water and relative humidity (not currently used, but provided).

These are gridded, Equidistant Cylindrical products from, or derived from,
external sources.

The meteorological data are obtained from NCEP.
The ozone data are obtained from NASA's Ozone Processing Team. (as of 01 Jan 2006, ozone data are obtained from NOAA NESDIS)
The SST data, the Optimum Interpolation SST, are obtained from NOAA's
Climate Diagnostic Center
.

How can I obtain the files?

To obtain the meteorological and ozone data visit the ftp site: ftp://oceans.gsfc.nasa.gov/METOZ/
To obtain the SST data visit the ftp site: ftp://oceans.gsfc.nasa.gov/OISST/
