You are invited to the NASA Earthdata Webinar "SeaDAS: Enabling the Study of our Planet from Space"

SeaDAS is free and publicly available software developed by NASA which enables users from their standard desktop and laptop computers to process, visualize, and analyze remote-sensing data.

The aim of this webinar is to bring to scientists, students, and the general public an awareness of SeaDAS as well as, to increase awareness of NASA's publicly available remote-sensing data. During this webinar, we will demonstrate some of the capabilities of SeaDAS along with the types of studies and results one might expect to achieve. Emphasis on SeaDAS’s ease of use will be stressed along with its capabilities for more complex operations.

Though this will not be a detailed how-to tutorial, this webinar will provide participants, whether they be new or existing users, with an understanding of what can be accomplished and point them to the available help and support resources.

Event: SeaDAS: Enabling the Study of our Planet from Space
When: Wednesday 15 June 2016, 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
Time Zone: Eastern Daylight Savings Time (UTC/GMT-4)

Speaker:

Daniel Knowles Jr., software developer and remote-sensing scientist for the NASA Ocean Biology Ecology Laboratory, has 24 years experience working in the remote-sensing field.  Danny has been developing SeaDAS for the past 5 years. Prior to this, Danny worked 5 years on the pre-launch thermal IR band algorithm development for MODIS followed by over 13 years running the operational command schedules for SeaWiFS mission operations. Danny also has developed many features of the current Ocean Biology Processing Group operational data processing system.
