Can you please tell me what MODIS bands you used to 'create' the Tasman Sea image you have on the Ocean Color home page?
Hi,
I used MODIS bands 1 (645 nm), 4 (555 nm), and 3 (469 nm) for the red, green, and blue
channels of the image, respectively. I used the 250-meter band (Band 1) to sharpen up
the other two 500-meter bands.
When I make these images I make them in layers. One layer is a log-scaled, true-color
combination of the three surface reflectances. Another is a histogram equalized version
of the same which helps separate subtle color differences in the image. I also use the
computed chlorophyll field as one of the layers. This helps bring up detail in the image.
I combine all of the layers using the Gimp.
You will also find this basic information in the comment block of the JPEG image.

I hope this helps.
